Sweetness_7 North Opening

I'm a big fan of Sweetness 7. On the rare days I can get away from work, it's my number one choice to go and do some reading and writing. Owner/operator/pioneer Prish Moran has done an awesome thing on Grant St.; we need some more people with community vision like that in Buffalo.

And, of course, I just support the rise of a cafe scene in this town.

So, I was excited to hear that Prish is opening a new cafe in North Buffalo--on Parkside, right by the entrance to the zoo. I took her up on the invite to the opening party, and I am impressed with the space--I guess it's been mostly empty for years, except for occasional employment as an art gallery. The feel is similar to the Sweetness on Grant--lots of details, hand-painted wood, warm dark colors.

Of course, it's hard to judge accurately, since the new cafe was crowded to the gills with all kinds of people. It's inspiring to see that many people excited about a new space like this.

I snapped a ton of pictures, most of them super-blurry, and somehow managed to not get any good pictures of Prish, the woman behind it all. Anyway, check out the gallery over on Facebook.

Sounds like a few of the best Sweetness baristas will be starting out at the new cafe, so hopefully everything will be on par with the original location. I'll get up there soon and do another post on it. Best of luck to them!
